More often than not, we make the mistake of merely introducing new vocabulary, and we do not give students the opportunity to put these new words to use. This 3-hour workshop aims at presenting a range of activities which will help students put words to work and learn vocabulary more effectively.
We are going to discuss the following issues and more:
- What lesson frameworks can be used to teach a vocabulary lesson?
- What are some of the key principles we should take into consideration when planning vocabulary lessons?
- What are some of the problems with inferring meaning from context?
- What tasks can we use to supplement coursebooks and provide students with more vocabulary practice?
